    and the wiring thereof.

Fitted a set of Mr Oxfords finest Hot Grips last nigh. Removed large divot
of flesh from left index finger knuckle when cutting accelerator grip off.
Those Leatherman blades are *so* sharp. Didnt feel a thing for a good few
seconds, and then it started hurting, and pissing blood. But I digress...

Its wired up direct to the battery for the moment, and they work a treat.
Mr Toastyhands was my name on the way into work this morning... But Im loath
to leave them hooked up in this fashion. Either I will forget to turn them
off one day, or some muppet will think its funny to switch them on whilst
the bike is parked in the bay outside the office.

So where is the best place to hook into a feed off the ignition switched
electrical system of the bike? Although they dont draw *that* much power
(about 3 amps max) I dont want to go frying the bikes loom. Would I be best
wiring them up via a relay?...And can you buy said sort of things easily?

Forgive the numptiness, but bike electrics mystify me...

  2. I fitted mine to the horn circuit. I didn't bother with a relay, but I
    probably should have done.

Relays are available from your local friendly motor factors. They're
very simple to wire up. Tell them what you want to do, and if they're
any good, they'll explain what to do.

Hooked mine into the loobman feed. I didn't use a relay, and can't really
see the point. If Oxford thought one was needed, they would have supplied
one since it's their control unit that will keep failing.....

I hope the pain has subsided.
