Especially the four lane bit between the Shell station in Mottingham
    and the South Circular...

Plod's been standing there waving Hendon Hairdryers twice this week,
about halfway between the intersection and the roundabout. First time
I've seen them on this stretch (especially as it's got two scameras on
it anyway) but from the way everybody drives/rides there I guess
    they've been doing brisk business.

And me, I'll just be waiting for the NIP, hoping that the K's speedo is
as inaccurate as they usually are.

Probably - the speedo on my Adventure was rather far out.
That sounds depressingly familiar. It seems that the more recent a car, the
    more 'off' the speedo is...

Ta for that......a road I use frequently.

Also look out for the local "Wannabee" plod (Community Police Assistants)
that are being used to *spot* people using mobile phones while driving.
(Won't affect bikes obviously) ['wings excepted]

I was pulled on Thursday in the van because the occifer *thought* he saw me
    using my phone.
What I was *actually* doing was resting my elbow on the armrest and
scratching my nose at the time.
I asked the occifer if he had *actually* observed a phone in use....His
reply was my arm was in a position that made him supect I was but he didn't
    actually see me using one.
I pointed out that there are 2 handsfree units in the vehicle and next time
I want to pick my nose I'll make sure I don't get a police escort while
    doing it!
