For use with an MP3 player.

Little or no sound leakage is important. I hate people inflicting
their racket on me, so I want to avoid inflicting mine on them.

Quality helps, of course, as does being reasonably light... but I'll
    sacrifice that for robustness.

    Absolute maximum budget is £30.

    Any recommendations?

Well, see, it all comes down to 2 things, keeping the audio in and keeping
the noise out. When you can't hear the noise, you need less volume, so
    don't go pissing people off.

I've been using some in-ear jobs for quite a few years now. Not quite up
to earplug standards for blocking out noise, but they're pretty good. Add
a bit of audio and you get a very pleasent listening experience. It
    doesn't suit everyone's ears though.

As I recall, mine are the Creative EP-630 or 830 (can't remember which),
and I'd get another pair. They've great dynamic range especially for
    their size.

I've got the CX400IIs and reckon they are the nuts.

I'm on my fourth set of CX300s. The only problem I've had with them is
they're small enough to lose. Other than that they're pretty much
    perfect.

Extra ear buds can easily be obtained in packs of 10 pairs.

    Ordered the CX400II Precision.

Having googled the fakes issue, I took a gamble on an Amazon trader
flogging them at £18.99, P&P free.

They arrived yesterday and I spent a couple of hours looking for the
signs of forgery, I'd found on various forums. No sign, so the ear
test... clear, lovely response. I was picking up subtle stuff that I'd
    never noticed before.

    Thanks for the recommendation.

Trader's name was "hammer" looks like he has nothing up, ATM.

They come and go... His feedback was good and the 'phones check out as
    genuine, so I'm not worried.

Keep checking Amazon, or have a look here:
