No, no. It makes you either A) a fuckwit, or B) a troll.

    My money's on B).

Well, although you lose true stereoscopic vision with one eye,
the brain can usually compensate for that by using other information.
Such as that object moves in front of this object, or I'd expect a car
to be of roughly that size, thus it so far away.

It's a standard defence agains loss of night vision. Trouble is it dun't
    really help in traffic.

Personally I find visor as clean as possible, and practice helps.

It is much harder to judge distance with only one eye, but it's not quite
    that bad......

Agreed, hence why closing one eye works for me and is probably less of
a problem than for those with fully functioning binocular vision.

The problem I have is that, if I am dazzled in my dominant eye and
close it, the perspective changes enough to be fairly uncomfortable. It
was OK in the UK since the dazzle came from the right but on this side
of the pond it's more of a problem.

  9. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember gazzafield
Years ago I found that trick, but I look straight ahead but slightly
down and slightly to the left, blanking out the oncoming lights.
Trouble is nowadays, every fucker and his dog has either 100/80s in or
'Firrips UltraBeem' bulbs, usually badly adjusted. That, combined with
my slightly worse night vision has forced me to upgrade my own lighting.
I find the increased light from my own headlights makes it easier to
cope with the light from others'.

I drive and ride like that all the time anyway, my double vision is
getting worse. I've been refered to the local hospital to see a
consultant. I may well have to have an op to sort the muscle
controlling my left eye as it wanders all over the place.

I knew a one-eyed bloke who flew light aircraft. By ****, he was a
dangerous bastard, though. Nothing to do with his vision - that was all
right, just the chances he took in general.

You looking at me? ;) At Pixiefest I did notice you walking around with
one eye closed, that would explain a lot. Or maybe it was the beer.
