Yes, especially because I wasn't going to chuck additional cash at the seller (I know how much he bought the place for and he won't get more than 100% profit out of me...) That said, the thing's been on the market for some time and I'm probably the best buyer he's going to get as he's keen to move in with his other 'alf, has no chain and I don't have one either... Can't say I'm enjoying it. A lot of the estate agents I've met were too weasly to become used bike salespeople and I don't like dealing with those.
In *tempts fate* Y'know, Timo.. I might just buy it off you. How much, what spec, and will it be actually working? -- Pete M Mercedes 260E *, Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Ford Capri (ressurection started) COSOC #5 Scouse Git extraordinaire. Liverpool, Great Britain
Well, it cost me 590 squids including tax until the end of September so I'd be looking at that kind of cash. Spec seems to be a bit basic - electric windows & sunroof, A/C (not sure if it's working), usual wood inside. Most of the 'leccy problems at the moment seem to come from the fuses which crumble to dust as soon as one touches them. It drives surprisingly well in a "big barge" kind of way.
Hang on a sec - you've bought a car with which to assist moving house, and yet you haven't even put an offer in on one yet? You truly are insane.
Well, I'm renting at the moment and I don't intend to stay here past the end of the contract. If this one falls through I'll just rent something else that's a bit nicer... And that's news exactly how?
Which is why the end of this month is the cut-off date for me - if I haven't found a place to buy by then (IOW, if the offer on this place doesn't go through) then I'll go and find some other place to rent instead. Rental agreement runs out at the end of July. The place that I'll most likely make an offer on on Monday has no chain and the bloke's keen to move in with his other half so there's an incentive for both of us to get moving. The last thing I want or need is having this whole endeavour take the best part of a year like it happened to a mate of mine...
Well, if you don't mind email me a bit more info - I should know in the next two weeks if the house purchase goes OK.
Yep, it is - there are filters on it so in case you're trying to sell me V1agra it probably won't work, but normal email tends to get through.
The place I bought before Christmas had no chain - I was in rented, and the seller had already bought his next house. *Still* took 3 months - it just does.
