One of my all-time unfavourite tasks. But the CB750 now has them. *Beer*

Salad Dodger wrote They need checking to make sure they haven't. Last night I found a bottle of plonk wot Verdi gave me at the BOSM and I thought "oh yeah I will have half of that later for a nightcap," and I completely forgot to drink it. I find that very depressing in some respects. So much so that I have resolved to not drink the other half today deliberately.
Some do IME. Of course, that's often because I didn't put them in properly in the first place. I managed to find two little electrical bodges while I was doing the job. The front brake light switch worked on the principle of "twist the end of the wire round the spade connector end", and the horn was plumbed in likewise. I'm pissd off about the speedo drive - I used an impact driver on the little crosshead screw that holds the cable into the drive on the wheel, and it just mullered. I'll have to drill the bloody thing out, I suppose, because it ain't shifting no matter how much brute force I throw at it. I tried heat and set the cable outer alight.

"I told you so..." Yay! Sir needs a bigger hammer or an even bigger drill! Hehe. Even I haven't managed that yet.
The Older Gentleman was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever: I'm not too sure about that, given my latest "sensible" purchase. But that doesn't really belong here given that it's got four wheels.
Sometimes, yes. eh? Don't be daft. Just[1] check the bearings for play. No play = tight enough. [1] I realise that few sentenances describing Glodwing maintenance start with "just".

Well, as you know I've been looking for a new Schloss - which incidentally, I think I found - so I figured an estate car would come in handy to lug all the shite I don't want any longer down to the skip. Being my usual cheap self I'd get something that was sought after enough to flog again after a couple of months. Sound thinking, no? Last night, leisurely browsing ebay I noticed that a Mercedes estate that I had stuck on my watch list for reasons unknown a couple of days earlier. It certainly looked a lot better after the first beer and I had noticed that there was only one bid on it as well. Oh well, thinks I, I'm going to get outbid on it anyway as I'm so cheap, so why not stick a bid in? So I did. To my surprise I didn't get outbid straight away but wtf, the car must be worth at least 800 and I was bidding a lot less than that. Of course I've won the auction and I've now got to pick up an old Merc estate somewhere in the wilds of Dorset. To cap it all it's the hugely-complicated-cos-it-was-designed-by-engineers 4Matic version as well. Which makes the thing an instant throwaway if the system plays up because it's so damn expensive to fix... So that'll be a proper 'beerloom' then.
I actually *do* sell on ebay as well but some of the stuff here is so grim (broken monitor, anyone?) that it's only fit for the skip. I'll try to stay away from the armco then...
Ah yes, there's always that. Unfortunately for him the seller put the words "Nice car to drive. Everything works" into his ad...
Naturally. I should've bought an Ovlov estate instead but I didn't want to slowly turn into my stepdad.
