HAYDEN AUTOGRAPHED BANNERS TO BENEFIT INJURED RIDER Don't Miss a Chance to Own a Piece of History While Helping Vincent Haskovec MONTEREY, Calif. (September 15, 2005) - Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is offering motorcycle fans an opportunity to own a unique piece of history while at the same time donating to a great cause. Ten 3 foot by 8 foot banners that lined the City of Monterey's Fremont Street during the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix will be available for bid in a blind auction. Each of the banners have been personally autographed by race winner Nicky Hayden of Owensboro, Kentucky. The proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Wegman Benefit Fund to assist in the cost and care of American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) racer Vincent Haskovec. Bids will be taken exclusively at [URL="http://www.laguna-seca.com"]www.laguna-seca.com[/URL]. Minimum bid is 0, and the 10 highest bids will win the banners. In a blind auction, bidders are unable to see other participant's bids. The auction will run from Wednesday, September 21 through Wednesday, September 28, 2005. Haskovec was injured May 14, 2005 during an AMA Formula Xtreme race at Infineon Raceway. The rising star hit a tire wall and suffered paralyzing injuries. He is currently undergoing therapy in California. The 2005 Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix drew a weekend attendance of 153,653, the largest event in the 49 seasons of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Tickets for the 2006 event went on sale on September 1 and quickly sold out of all hospitality areas and paddock passes.
