Yeah, but fair play, it did it on 40-year old technology.

  6. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Pip amazed us all with this pearl of wisdom:
It probably had time to go rusty after going through the Earth's
    atmosphere.

Given that it'll do almost a true 200 with 180 odd bhp, do you really
need 700 to do 250? Sounds a bit on the high side to me.

Yes it is a VERY large turbo !! Frosty gave me the full tour last week and
also ran his current busa record bike up, very quite considering. He also
does unbelievable things with busa engined kit cars and elise's. Talks about
16 custom injectors not delivering enough fuel. Fantastic workshop and dyno
setup. If you ever need a run doing with or without adjustments it is well
worth a visit up to Bradford.

I was chatting to the guy who runs 200mph.org and he said that wind
tunnel tests had shown the K1/K2 Gixer Thou to be aerodynamically
unsuitable for speeds above 195mph, even if the engine could get it
there. The Hyabusa is good for approx 280mph according to the man who
    knows these things.

Precisely. His reckoning was that even 200bhp from a Gixer motor
wouldn't make it go much faster than it already does at the top end, the
limiting factor is the lack of aerodynamic sophistication.

Personally, I haven't a clue if this is correct, I'm just passing on
    what I was told.
