Have you dealt with Corbin?

Discussion in 'Texas Bikers' started by Clifford Wilkes, Jul 24, 2003.

  1. Just before my trip to New Mexico on July 5th I discovered that Corbin
now makes a seat for my '99 Triumph Tiger. When I got it I found that
there was no way it would fit because of the bike's Engine Control
    Module.

The day after I got the seat I sent a message to them outlining the
problems and got a call back. Since then I sent several pictures of my
bike to show where the problem was and sent several messages to them
asking for a status report but I have gotten nothing more from them.

I'd like to hear about anyone else's experiences with Corbin.

P.S. For some reason Netscape is no longer picking up my new sig when I
post a message. So until it sorts itself out I guess we're all stuck
    having to see this one.

  2. Management cannot exist without labor.
That's funny. When we spoke to them, they claimed they didn't make seats
for the Pacific Coast because the mounting locations for the seats varied
too much from bike to bike, and they had lots of returns.

Knowing Honda, I kinda doubt it. Sounds like their production is getting a
    bit sloppy.

  3. nothing "getting sloppy" about it, corbin quality control has been gone
for a quite some time. i believe they have some serious legal and
criminal fraud issues in company management that may be adding to the
    overall distraction. best avoided, there are lots of great alternatives;

Russel Day Long springs to mind
Mayer saddles right up there too
Mustang and Sargent are worth a look

Corbin, not any more... glory days are gone
