Mate, just go tell the cops that it's there, if it's stolen, they'll let you (and the owner) know pretty damned quick

About 3-4 weeks ago a shinny red Caviga showed up in my street - looked like
    it was just purchased.
It has not moved once since it arrived and I find it hard to imagine that
someone would buy a relatively expensive bike and a) never ride and b) leave
it on the side of the road with not even a disc lock on it.

Not sure of the model - looks like a 250 (or 125 maybe). It has done around
6,800 klms and is has red fairings.

It's located in an inner-west suburb of Sydney.

On the off chance that you know that this bike has gone missing, I will only
provide info to anyone who can supply me with the rego number - the last
thing I want to do is to actually CAUSE a theft !

    cheers

I just don't want to be alarmist - but situation does this sound a little
    unusual ?

I wasn't sure it was just me being paranoid, hence maybe I shouldn't waste
    the cops time.

    It's only a Cagiva:-

    a) No one would bother to steal it.

    b) Ridden once, no one would bother to ride it again.

But just in case the the thieves executed (A) then arrived at (B), (ie dumped it) then ring the cops.

Ring the cops but remain calm. Be alert, but not alarmed.
It'll take about 10 seconds of their time to check if it's stolen. They're
standing behind a desk in a police station just waiting for people like you to
ring and tell them where stolen stuff is. They don't have time or resources
to go check the rego of every car and bike parked on the street.

Ring your local police station. They'll check it out to see if it's listed
    as stolen or not.

well it went on the dyno and was jetted but there was a problem with a
restriction in the air box so i was told by the dyno dude to go for a ride
with the air box lid off ( he did dynos with it off) and it (in hindsight)
seized momentarily (thought to be an electrical fault) well i kept riding it
for 2 weeks till it shat its self completely. i think it really needs a
keihin 34mm carb or sumthin. but i just wanna sell the fuker after spending
$2500 since it first seized and will be looking for another $800 for a new
barrel and piston when i get my shit together. and no i didnt do a dodgy
home job fitting it i got pros to do it coz i wanted it to last.... i should
have done it myself and saved $700 in labour and hassles!!!!
