Has anyone got a German bank account?

Due to me not realising something I just ordered online couldn't be
paid for online, I need to transfer 43.53 euros into a German bank
account in the next couple of days. I suspect that'll cost nearly as
much again in fees if I transfer from my bank. Anyone got a German
account or a cheaper way of doing it? I can do a UK bank
transfer/paypal/cheque in the post/whatever if anyone can do it more
    cheaply.

Whilst the esteemed Mr Tosspot has, once again, stepped magnificently
into the breach ... there's an alternative, you know. We've been up
similar gumtrees, cuddling with the pre-dropped bears, and found a
viable alternative that has (fortunately) worked every time (due to the
fucking banks being the fucking tight-arsed cunts they are and not
allowing the cheap/free transfers that occur within the Eurozone) ...
and that's the good old fallback of an envelope mailed to the seller,
stuffed full of Post Office-acquired euro notes.

Simple to the point of coarseness, but good so far.

Not German but I can send from my Belg account with no extra (or
    minimal, I forget) charge.

  6. Point of order - Marks & Spencer acquired. The PO exchange rates are
ruinous. M&S is the best I've ever found.

Ah. Being in the sticks, the PO is a short walk away, M&S would be a
12-mile drive, couple of quid to park, 12 miles back. Puts a slant on
    the rates, that does.

    Take your point, though.

Indeed, but wouldn't get the discount offered by the seller if paid
within 3 days, & wouldn't get said item put in the post to me today so
I hopefully get it by the weekend.
