    Would a service manual for a 2008 softail work for a 2009 flhr road
    king, or are the engines different?

    Thanks, I rung a dealer after I posted and he said same engine different
    mounting.

    Cases are different, Softy has a balance shaft and a solid mounted
    engine, the Road King has a rubber mounted engine and no balance shaft.

    Never having owned anything but knuckles pans and sportys I have to
    wonder at "balance shaft"
