    It went well, too.

Apart from the rhs carb constantly[1] falling off.

As for the lunatic charged with custody of your 400 Four - he needs
    his head looking at.

How he maintained that speed up the M20 tonight into the teeth of a
howling gale is beyond my understanding.

    [1] Twice.

I'm wondering why nothing broke down, after all it was a ukrm trip.

I lost an engine mounting bolt, and Fr Jack broke a spoke in his front
    wheel.

Even I was quite impressed, there was a crack noise and the engine shut
down: leaving the a large (40mm) Dellorto carb hanging from its fuel line
    and cable.

Hey ho, push it back on and restart.

of our "3 shite bikes to Chimay" party, I think yours was the most
"modern" machine, but was the only one to suffer (admittedly easily
    solved) problems.

As I said yesterday: "Moto Guzzi - hand built by idiots" ;-)

    what? what?
    I don't even know what speed it was[1]. The speedo reads OK up to 70;
after that, it just reads "comedy".

But given that I managed the 92 mile trip from the Eurotunnel exit, up
the M20, through the Dartford tunnel, round the M25, and through 6 sets
of traffic lights down the A10 in 1 hour 15 minutes, I have a rough
    idea.

    It goes well, that bike.

[1] slower than Sweller is the only thing I can say for sure.

Just believe. If your door security or the likes it takes tact and
tactics to defuse potential trouble and they require a different
approach because (obviously) they have different mindsets and are wound
    up by different things.

Worst of all are Dyke Nights mind!

You are asserting there are common flash points, of course there are,
just as there are uncommon ones. The group in question is particularly
sensitive (for instance) to "us" having "access" to their sisters ;o)

I only saw my speedo drop below 75 twice all the way from the Ashford
    turn off.
    Does it ever.
    Oh, aye.

I kept mine at 75 as I was getting light on fuel and cash which is just
as well it seems to turn in 50+mpg at that speed.

I hadn't intended to **** off into the distance (if I had it would have
been done a little quicker) but when I turned round to turn off for the
M25 and give a cheery wave neither of you were in sight.

My legs are killing me today. I suppose walking the entire circuit
wearing big clumpy bike boots, fishing socks (of sorts) in the sun hasn't
helped. Unless I was bitten by that squid - which is possible.

    It was my trousers, honestly.

I was surprised more didn't fall off given I'd only put 40 or so miles on
it after it'd been a pile of bits and declared it fit 12 hours before
    departure.

you got a couple of cars ahead, and then when I'd cleared then, you
were gone. Probably not much ahead if you reckon you were sticking to
    75.
whereas, having had a nice weekend of shorts-and-sandals, I feel
    absolutely chipper.
