    Lately there has been quite a distinction and contriversy over the
    terms, Christmas and Holiday. Some say, that any government, from city
    to federal, shouldnt display publicly, a tree, and call it a Christmas
    tree. Those few say it offends them, that they shouldnt be confronted
    with anything that is called Christmas. (or something like this?)
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Especially some are keen on not calling the tree that has been put up in
    Washington for, what, over 150 years. a Christmas Tree. Some say it
    should be called a Holiday tree.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    A holiday tree?
    Okay, if so, maybe it should stay up year around, to celebrate all our
    national holidays, well .!.
    Lets see. Maybe it would be appropriate to decorate it, with heart and
    cupid ornaments for Valentine's Day, shamrocks and leprechauns for St
    Patrick's Day and flags for Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day,
    Labor Day, and Veterans Day. hmmmmm?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Back to Christmas time. What about the old favorite song, ''O Christmas
    Tree, O Christmas tree''? nah, doesnt have the same ring if went: ''O
    Holiday Tree, O Hoilday Tree'' See what I'm saying!
    Depending on your beliefs, there are other December holidays, such as
    Hanukkah and Kwanza. ya see.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I think, we all are supporters of freedom of expression and speech, and
    can think what we want to, about this time of year. I think most folks
    accept and respect those who wanna call Christmas Day, Christmas Day, or
    those who wanna call Christmas Day, Hoilday Day.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I promise I want get offended if you call Christmas Day, any other Name
    Day. All ya gotta do, is respect my beliefs.
    So,if I say Merry Christmas, and you or cordial when you say Merry
    Holiday, heck, lets be merry and jolly and decorate our
    halls with bailes of holly, or whatever.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    (shoot, lets have a jolly ole time, and hope ole St Nick comes to our
    homes. I don't think he cares what the trees are called, as long as we
    have one, for him to do his job, drink a little 1% milk, and eat sugar
    free cookies,<wink>) BJAY)!

  6. Perhaps, but no sillier or less testable than any other religion.

  8. I do follow the belief that Calvin's Dad was a great teacher. We don't have
    any fermented beverages here (other than soy sauce) but I have, while
    wearing full pirate garb, sprinkle parmesian cheese upon the shrubbery.
