Happy birthday, Des

  1. Since the curiously loathsome, mouth-breathing aad-p fruitcakes have pursued
you here, the least we can do is offer you political asylum! You share your
birthday with 2 of my favourite people, but don't let that go to your head.

I thought I saw Des uberflounce and unsubscribe the other day?

  3. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Véritable Rosbif amazed us all with this pearl of
    wisdom:
Dennis Hopper shares my birthday along with Enya <shudder> and Sugar Ray
    Leonard.

You're too late - he unsubscribed temporarily a couple of days ago to
    try & shake them off.

    At least.
I love the way he's sacrificing his own enjoyment of the newsfroup in order
to enhance ours by luring away the nasty element that have been haranguing
    him lately. *So* gallant.

Bwahahahaha. Google reference for the post please?

Like **** would he interested in the welfare of UKRM. Des doesn't think
    about anyone else but himself.

That's not all I've repeated today. I think I'm allergic to chocolate
chip cookies. Or maybe I shouldn't eat a whole pack at once.

I suspect true is right. He gives the impression of being quite badly
rattled by his new found friends and is making every effort to avoid
    them.

Without a doubt there is a deeper background story that we are not
hearing but given that 99% of us don't give a shit this is prolly no bad
    thing.

  10. White man not speak with forked tongue. I hadn't seen yesterday's
uberflounce before I posted. Even if I had, I would still have done so. At
the most it'll be a technical unsubscribe; a half-hour or thereabouts.

Even so, Des at his worst seems a preferable option to the default behaviour
of the rancid and deranged pondslime of his aad-p inverse fan-club.

  12. Possibly on the 'infinite number of monkeys' principle, he does come up with
interesting observations, parallels & differences in life and/or biking in
France. Mrs Rosbif is a Frog, and I'm sufficiently interested in what
Tolerable Des sometimes has to say to be able to ignore Toxic Des when he's
standing in the metaphorical gutter, drinking Brasso, swaying alarmingly and
    shouting at the traffic.

The aad-p crazies seem, by contrast, to be unhealthily twitter and bisted.
They have no use on the planet and are IMHO a simple waste of oxygen.

    YMMV ;-))

Gizza wave, Des. We *know* you're out there!

I'm of pretty much the same opinion, although if I was on the receiving
end of Des' abuse like Bear, Ace etc I'd probably think differently.
Absolutely. I did lurk in aad-p for a while many moons ago, & it
appeared the loonies had taken things into real life in a rather nasty
way. I don't blame Des for trying to shake them off, or at least keep
    them contained.

    *Lovely* metaphor.
Well, yes. These are people who are positively proud of their support

And Des, whether deserved or not, isn't on the receiving end of abuse
from than one source, including the two you mentioned?

Oh yes, without a doubt. But the majority of abuse hurled at Des seems
to be more of the piss-taking variety (with the exception of Bear), &
at least vaguely related to the topic under discussion.

Des' abuse on the other hand appears to be just incesant viscious
sniping at any opportunity. I know he'd disagree, but that's how it
comes across to a fairly disinterested third party such as myself who
doesn't know the history behind it all.

    <variation on old joke mode>

You're trapped in a room with Des, Bear and Ace. You have a gun with
two bullets. What should you do?

    You shoot Des. Twice.

I wouldn't really know as it goes. I tend to get space bar happy on
those type threads and so have no real idea of who is doing what to
whom, only that it is being done and sometimes I get too happy and skip
the first three articles in the next thread which causes me no end of
problems and thus to have issues with *BOTH* fucking sides of the
argument in a manner entirely unconnected to the subject of the argument

one of my next door neighbour's parrots favourite sayings is "Can't you
