Handlebar(throttle) grip covers glue recommendations

My throttle grip, that was installed less than a year ago, has just
come loose. Very strange initial feeling before you understand
    what's really happening.

They(the new grips) were installed at Two Wheel World, and I
saw the guy use some glue, that I presume came with the grips.

I can see the remaining throttle slide is plastic, and I assume the
grip inside is plastic also, so what kind of glue do I seek to repair
this bond, without causing such a hold the grips can never be repl-
    aced again?

    Thanks - Gary

I looked, more carefully, at the inside of the grip, and it appears
to be more like a rubber compound than plastic.

My wife, the only one in the house with hair spray(actually the only
one in the house with hair), says you're pulling my leg.... Personally,
I think you may be correct, but speaking specifically of the sprays
of old that were in the aerosol containers. Today, many sprays
exist that may not have that "sticky" complement any longer.

I'll see what I can dig up around here, and do a "sticky" test. At
    least it's readily available.

Thanks for the tip Jack, I'll post my findings.

He's not "pulling your leg" at all.. That "hair spray" trick works better
than almost anything that you can use.. Takes a little longer to dry than
super glue and is wet enough for the grip to slide one easily.. When it
sets, there is plenty of bind on the grip and when you want to replace it,
it will break loose with a little pressure.. Try it.. LOL.. Tell the wife to
go get another spray can of "Hair Net" or whatever they call it these days..
    Good Luck..

I didn't really think Jack was pulling my leg, that's just what my wife
said. However, how many grips has she ever installed?

  6. Go to the drug store and buy yourself a can of Aquanet and make sure
it says that it's the best of all holds on the market.

Aquanet is the best thing going.

Then loan the rest of the can to your wife so she can tend to her
stockings that have runners and hold fabric while it goes through
sewing machines. There's all sorts of uses for that stuff...but don't
bother with the yuppie gucci designer sprays!
