It would seem then that Gyp has a lockup full of old strokers we don't
know about, for it is he.

IMHE you feel that you were cut up because you're expending so much

In all the trackdays I've done I've never once seen or heard of an
accident that was caused by anyone other than the rider themselves.
Just because someone comes past you and perhaps makes you sit up a bit
doesn't mean what they were doing was wrong or dangerous, just
    unexpected.

If this person caused you to stand the bike up so badly that you
nearly crashed then I'd say you should have just gone and had a word.
Nothing agressive, just a "watch what you're doing please" and I'm
sure they'd oblige. If they don't, threaten them, if they still
don't, smack them. Forget going to the organisers, they're mostly a
    waste of time.

Have you ever looked into track insurance?

    IIRC, it's something like:

£200 premium; £500 excess; and the clincher: plastics aren't covered.

Maybe that's why people rarely take it out.

It *very* nearly happened to a guy in our garage on the last track evening I
did at Brands. In the novice group, another rider tried to pass him on the
exit of Graham Hill Bend, when he was quite legitimately drifting out
towards the edge of the track. There was about a foot between him and the
kerb, and the resulting 'pass' involved connecting shoulders and the removal
of a mirror. Not nice for your first track outing.

Despite what has been said here I've seen a fair bit of bother in track
days when pro and semi pro racers (setting up their track bikes) mix it
up with road riders. I have been on track days where it was road
registered and insured bikes only, which isn't a bad idea.

Very good idea although you'll always get the disparity in riding
ability which IMO is what causes most problems.

Although they still run ACU test days on circuits over here they are
generally now the same price as trackdays so most racers use the
trackdays as much as the test days.

  9. I can imagine the choice language when a novice pillion of airhead/celeb
    origin leans the wrong way.

  13. I don't think they can, don't they have to hold onto handles on the tank?[1]

Most trackdays are midweek so you'll be ok to attend, as long as you're
    not the newly morphed Robbo.

The only thing I'd do different would be to do them on the brakes as
viciously as I could and then go and have a chat to see if they were
happy to have it done to them.

Otherwise you've got it spot on.
