Since you don't turn up to any "no cunts" meetings, I assumed you were a
    ****.

Besides, I've called you as much anyway.
    Yes but usual rules apply.

yes, but if it has to be done by /me/ I'm not confident about cutting
the bumper without fucking it up big time.

  4. Take your pick:

    1. Yeah, it's a bastard when a chick is faster.

    2. She probably had something to prove.

    3. Obviously a lesbian.

Thing is - when I wer 'lad if you wanted to ride on a track you went
racing - I did ride round a couple of tracks when marshalling[1], but
it was pretty much frowned upon, at best.

It's only in the last 5-10 years that the trackday concept has really
taken off, and I never really felt the need when I was in the UK. I'm
not sure I feel the need even now, but I'm gradually recognising that
it's something I ought to do at some point, if for no other reason
than to test my belief that a lot of slower road riders would be
significantly quicker than me on the track.
    <sulks>

Still, I'll be going home shortly, so can look forward to a good blat
through the twisties. I might even detour up into the hills. Yes, ****
    it, why not?

I think you should do it, if for no other reason than I think you'd
    really fucking enjoy it.

It really is different to fast (hah!) road riding, because, if nothing
else, you know there's nothing coming the other way, and there are no
vehicles other than bikes to overtake or be overtaken by.

Lots of race prepped bikes were chopping up the road bikes in my group.
Yes thanks, and thanks for the offer.

    Cheers

  9. Same in mine, they were way too fast for the novice group. Looked like
fairly well prepped bikes with some well worn leathers on the riders,
didn't look like novices to me.

Sounds like a sound idea to me, I'd be up for Donington, Rockingham or
    even Mallory again.

Well yes, there is that :)
Aye, I'm very much aware of that. Riding the gixxer one has to be
aware that 99% of the time the limit to corner speed[1] is down to
neither the skill of the rider nor the ability of the machine, but the
limitations of visibility. Within those parameters I'm fast, given
that I have good road sense and reaction speed, but I'm far from
convinced I'd be anywhere near 'fast' on the track.

Which is maybe why I've never done one...

[1] And therefore any other sort of speed.

I don't give a flying **** about being passed by anyone. Let them ride
    around the outside of me.

Had I been on the firestorm, i'd have held my line and closed the door
on her, but as it was I was trying to save my plastics.

  14. In a car but not on a bike.
Same excuse. Slightly more appropriate clothing but still not full zip
    together.
I really don't like riding in a group on the roads, I think I wouldn't
enjoy a track day unless I had the entire track to myself.
What ever happened to 'what happened at Donington stays at Donington'?snip towbars.

Don't matter. I was pretty slow on my first track day, but
    a) I still enjoyed myself
    b) No-one else cared a jot

    So, no downside really.

You have to sign a disclaimer to say something along the lines of "If I
die, it's not their fault", so I don't see why TF it should make any
difference. I mean, blood isn't difficult to remove with a bit of soap
    and water.
You've got the worry of looking after your compadres on the road though,
innit. On the track you can make a mental "****-it" note and **** off
    into the distance.

  20. Well, there you go. I don't see the point of using a decent bike on a
trackday - or at least one that's expensive to fix up; what was the
    state of her bike?
