I take Lydden Hill would suit all slow moving, slow gearchanging [1], slow
steering bikes? Including certain *cough* classics?

[1] Or not as the case may be.

Afraid not old bean. Total lack of organisation on my part coupled with a
lack of what the organisers would view as appropriate clothing.

It seems a bit excessive to shell out on a set of leathers and a helmet
for a couple of days but I really should ...

I could set the dial to Gay!Extreme and borrow Gyp's.

Piece of piss to fit yourself - most modern vehicles have a spur off the
loom to connect the tow electrics.

Alternatively, borrow my SAAB - I may also have a multibike trailer [1] in
    the very near future.

[1] Multibike as in flatbed trailer with 'some' tie down points welded on.

Me neither, due to a lifetime of procrastination and now lack of what
the organisers would view as an intact bike.

    Which wouldn't bother me either.

You were suprised when I asked what group you were in, I thought you
were happy with being placed in the Advanced.
Not into the inters though. I was the rolling road block in that group,
but they seemed happy enough to leave me there, so I can't have been
    holding up too many people.

The only complaint I had was the dangerous bitch riding under people in
the entrance to corners. Happened to me and several other people in
front of me who were forced to brake or change line to avoid her. She
should have had a warning from the marshals.

But I ride on the roads like they're a race track. Does that count?

    ah yes, but you're "special".
put it this way - the only time I ever wear full leathers on a bike
these days is on a trackday - I think the trouser half of my HG suit
has been used no more than 8 or 9 times.
    useful, ta.
Not stunningly convenient, though a generous offer. I think putting a
towbar on the Jeep and buying a trailer is the best solution to my
"how to get a non road bike to a track day" problem.
    classy.

Have you done anything at all with that R65LS, BTW? Not that there's
any rush, I'm merely mildly curious.

  14. Likewise - I have done one in a car (Formula Ford single-seater) but
    never on a bike.

I'm sure you've thought of this, but just in case, make sure you get a
trailer with a central rail i.e. a single bike, three bike, or one with
moveable rails. You /can/ trundle around with one bike on the side of a
two-bike trailer, but it's not exactly confidence inspiring.

I'd also avoid swan-neck towbars, unless you're absolutely certain
you'll never have a use for the numerous gadgets you can bolt to a
    'normal' towbar.

I have thought about it. I'll either buy a one or a three bike trailer
(or one like Nigel is selling where you place the rails where you want
    them).
can you elaborate? I was thinking about a swan-neck, because all the
Flange-fixed ones seem to involve cutting the bumper.

Dangerous practice on a track day, it isn't racing )

All sorts of things: bike racks for carrying (light) bikes, towing
dolly thingies which you put the front wheel in & let the rear run on
the road, MTB racks, fold-down platforms etc etc.

If you do go for a swan-neck, check the final fitted height before
committing. Bike trailers tend to be very low, so you might find the
tail's very close to the ground when using a Jeep. You can adjust the
height of the ball with t'other type so it's not a problem.

My Cherokee's bumper didn't need cutting - it's an old' un though
    (1996).

    Serious question
Can you take a pillion around on a track day?
    Age restrictions?

If you're fitting to a 4x4 that that shouldn't really be an issue.
It'll still look right if done cleanly.
