You must ride like a poof.
Let's not be hasty, he can **** off but he still has to organise
    trackdays for the scum.

I wasn't all that chuffed with the No Limits approach, to be quite
honest. To be told by one person that the instructor type chap will
lead you[1] for two laps, then find that the instructor pisses past you
in the pits to the front of the group and then comes in after half a
lap wasn't that encouraging. Bit of a breakdown in communications, but
    not that bad.

I wasn't that happy in the fast group and told them so. I was told to
go and try again in the next session as they hadn't had any complaints.
Basically, I couldn't move to the intermediate group as there wasn't
any places, but there seemed to be a number of other people moving
    around.

I didn't have any confidence anything would be done about the
situation, hence me not going for as many afternoon sessions as I
    could've.

Regardless of the organiser, I think I'd only bother with Oulton full
circuit, cadwell or brands full. Mallory was far too short for me to
get into, and had too many bikes too close. I think it's safe to say
I'll not go there again by choice.

[1] as you'd missed the first session, and the sighting laps

I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy Silverstone GP and Snetterton, if only
because they're fast circuits where you get a few seconds to compose
yourself after going into a corner too fast.

btw, I don't know why you haven't included Donington in your list of
circuits you'd bother with unless it's because it's too technical for
    you...

  6. Fine, as long as I don't start shagging like a poof.

    Heh. Probably not far off.

I'd love to do a track day, but I daren't risk throwing the VFR down a
track, given the cost of Honda plastics.

I'm almost tempted to try one on the Hongdou, though.....

There was a poster for (IIRC) Druid's Droop beer in the gents' at the
Black Horse, from which a feral apostrophe had been quite clearly
manually edited. I assumed one of the UKRM mob did it, although ICBW.

Steve, lets face facts. If you were to drop the VFR at the speeds you
normally ride at you'd have time to climb off, run into town and find a
mattress to let it fall on before it reached the gravel trap.

Why does everyone think they're going to throw their bike up the track?
You don't worry so much about throwing your bike up the road every time
you ride, so what's so different about riding on a race circuit. It's
just the same risk of falling as normal only there's less stuff to hit
    and damage your bike.

Probably because on the car track days I've attended, I've witnessed at
least one **** in something they can't control (usually a kid who has
borrow his father's TVR / Lotus / Subaru etc) wipe out at least one
    innocent driver.

  13. Well done on the past events. I enjoyed all I went to.
This is a great idea. I'd love to do it. My current location prevents
making a commitment to attend, but if the dates are published, I'll
    bear them in mind.

I'll definitely be going to the TT next year, so if there's one around
    that time, I'll do it.
He deserves to be chinned for that.
I'd like it if he never posted again, and never turned up to any event
    irl.

And these people can't be seen driving and riding around like cunts
every day out on our grease strewn potholed roads?

    Get fucking real

  16. Well exactly. I've only been on a track once - at Cadwell and it wasn't
a full blown track day but more a training type thing. There were
plenty of people going bloody quickly and enjoying their bikes.

I wasn't the slightest bit bothered about chucking my bike up the road -
more whether I could actually pay enough attention and translate what I
was being told into action on the bike. Just about everybody else was
faster than me but that's no change from normal. I learnt a lot and had
a lot of fun. I am much more reticent about a "proper" track day though
    - I'd have to be in the cowards and dead slow group.

Good luck with your venture but I'd be cautious given the renowned
inability of ukrm to do anything to scope or time - especially if it
    involves turning up and paying!

Interested. It's about time I did a track day.

    Hmmm, Wing or Z200?

I'd do Donington again, but I've done it before and in the 5 seconds or
so I took to compose the list I only thought of new-to-me tracks and
cadwell. Cadwell stuck out in my mind as being great fun.
