  3. I'd like to oblige, but I cannot find either of the two models listed
on the Jofama web site. Suppose I'll have to go out and purchase a copy
of MCN tomorrow - unless someone would be so kind as to email a scan of
    the article to me? ;-)

For now, I'll have to surmise that the shoulders, elbows, hips and
knees feature "HI-ART Light", a variation of the fabric from which the
Safety Suit - the concept of which I have been championing these past
several months, and wear daily on my own motorcycle.

Incorporating this material does indeed raise the abrasion resistance
    of standard air-textured Nylon fabrics from a paltry 0.45 - 0.65
seconds up to around 4 seconds, which is more than adequately into CE
performance territory. However, in areas where HI-ART Light is not
present, the performance is back to standard Nylon territory.

By comparison, the HI-ART fabric used in the Safety Suit runs over 13
    seconds in the abrasion test.
Oops!. Sorry. Should have emailed you much sooner. The occifer
concerned declined to part company with the garment in question. I did
try. Mine is most certainly *not* available! :)

    Greedy Plod!

Well I'll wait for the upgraded version then ;-)

  5. I've just picked up the last copy of MCN from my local newsagent. As I
suspected, they have featured the mainstream leather and textile
garments which feature "HI-ART Light" reinforcements to the shoulders,
elbows, hips and knees. Consequently, the technical overview I provided
    earlier stands.

  6. I thought I'd posted a detailed interim report somewhere in a previous
thread, but I'll be darned if I can find it now.

I find it to be very good indeed. Two trouser pockets (uninterrupted by
all the protective goings-on in the hip region, unlike leathers) plus
three or four jacket pockets, depending on which option is being worn
(two waist level plus one internal on all versions, but the part and
full-mesh jackets get a vertical external chest pocket as well).
Draught-free with the waterproof/windproof outers in situ, but the
part-mesh and full-mesh outers are *meant* to let the breeze through...
    ;-)

*Very* comfortable on both short hops (riding around town on various
errands) and long hauls (Dusseldorf to Northampton). The twin-zips for
both jacket and trousers mean it takes a little longer to get on than
the BMW Tourguard/Streetguard textile suit I also own, but it is no
worse than donning leathers. Gloves fit over the HI-ART (protective
inner) layer, but *under* the outer layer; putting on the unlined,
longer and more robust Held gloves being slightly more fiddly than the
part-lined and slightly shorter and softer BMW Summer Rains.

Something I have noticed just recently, having started to wear a
close-fitting sweatshirt under the jacket, is that the weave structure
of the protective layer stretches slightly, so the one doesn't give the
impression of being constricted by the extra layer of clothing. Also,
since the weave traps a layer of still air, the insulation in
windproof/waterproof configuration is significant. RiDE reported that
the suit was very warm, but didn't mention that for warm and hot days
the garment system is supplied with a very useful solution...

It's an impressive piece of kit, and I count myself very fortunate to
have been provided with the opportunity to possess one.
