I can get 30lbs into the back tyre and no more because I simply haven't
got the weight to push the pump down. One legged step aerobics it is.

When I bought it I dismissed the idea of buying an electric one as being

If your thinking of getting one of those electric compressors that you plug
into a lighter socket, don't bother. They are so slow and noisy you end up
going back to a footpump. Buy a proper compressor instead.

I've got one of those, cuts off at the pressure you set too. Slow,
noisy, but still pumps tyres up with less effort than a foot pump.

Snot the effort I mind so much as the total lack of result. I might as
well have spent me time chasing wimmin a lot less like hard work and
    just as unsatisfying.
