The silly cow that hit me has finally admitted liability :)

Had an offer of £3k for the beemer yesterday and it'll cost me £500
to buy the salvage. I'm quite happy with this offer but have refused
it so far, on the grounds of never accepting a first offer.

Now for the kit expense claim.

    Thassa result.
**** me, so's that. Offers that have come to my attention in the last
couple of years have seemed to be a lot more sensible than in the past
    - I really don't think that the refusal of the first, derisory, offer
applies any more, you know - and certainly not in this case. However,
if you squeeze another couple of hundred out of them, so much the
    better.

What do you intend - take the money and scamper off laughing? You're
not going to put yourself through the agony of buying the salvage and
    fixing it, are you?
Go for it. Got to be near the grand on its own ;-)

  3. Quite. And if you can enlist Hog's aid, he'll get it back on the road
for another couple of hundred quid.
And the back strain, loss of sleep, blinding headaches.... ;-))

I don't think I'll squeeze any more out of them but it's worth a
    shot.
    Bloody right I am :)
    That's the hope

Having priced it up it should cost me no more than £500 to get it
    back in shape.
Not going for personal injury, that would be dirty money seeing as I
    wasn't really hurt.

    too. :)

Just got my ULR claim cheque.. was over a grand. Remember if you are
claiming for stuff like Scotoiler and luggage rack (which I did) to include
    fitting charges.
Also, the number of days you don't get to use your policy that you've paid
    for.

    Good Luck
