Namely Hagon Nitro Adjustable Twinshocks and progressive fork spings.

I know for a fact that one of the Zeph's rear shocks is fucked, so are
therefore considering doing the rear end with Nitros and the front end
    with progressive springs.

    2 questions:

    1. Hagon: Good, bad or indifferent? (their chap at the bike show seemed
    like a jolly nice bloke).
    2. Anyone fancy a spot of spannering assistance and setting uppage?

Do the shocks one at a time.

Get all the weight off the front forks before undoing the top nuts.

I've got enough on my plate as it is, at the moment.

IME, good. I haven't used the Nitro range, but have been a satisfied
customer of theirs for years. I have used their fork springs and both the
classic twin shocks and the mono unit ( not at the same time ) on a range
of bikes and have never had cause for complaint.

If you have the front end apart, another worthwhile upgrade is the RaceTech
Cartridge Emulators. They take a bit of setting up, but combined with Hagon
suspension at both ends makes a marked improvement to the handling.

You have manual(s), right? Check in the book(s) what fork oil you
need and vitally, how much and how the quantity is calculated: actual
amount dribbled in, how far from the top, that sort of thing. I've
taken a few jobs like this on, then found there to be /no/ info on oil
available, which makes the whole thing a bit of a lottery. Forearmed
is bloody handy when doing a job needing four arms.

I think Hagon springs at both ends and new oil in the front will
transform your bike from the lardy, tired old barge it currently is
into ... well, just a lardy old barge, mate. New lease of life.

Hagon actually supply a cannister of oil with their progressive
    springs, which is handy.
Heh, my take exactly. It's handling has become somewhat erratic over
the last year, and I have already regassed one of the rear shocks
(although they're not designed to be regassed). Anyway, Hagon Nitro's
are very shiny, reason enough to buy 'em.

Hagon are overpriced IMO. I was looking at their Nitro range to
replace the ageing OE shocks on my Guzzi [1] but think that a set of
bespoke Maxton shocks are not a great deal more and offer better VFM.

Fork springs are pretty easy and with luck and careful examination of
the exploded diagram should be replaceable without too much
difficulty. If you want to come down south I can do it.

[1] I'm so hard I ride that Guzzi 'like what I do' on 30 year old
    shocks.

Hmm, I had brief correspondance with Maxton last year, can't remember
what their price was so will check it out.
Heh, I have the workshop manual, however a blat down South might be
enjoyable, will keep you posted, and thanks for the offer.

  19. I've had similar happen to Marzocchis (sp) and a set of OE ones rotted
right through under the pretty rubber boot that covered the top mount.
