Collected the new shocks and fork springs this morning.

The shocks are quite substantial beasts, and as the main body and
spring are stainless I went for the plain silver eyebolts rather than
the anodized purple / blue / gold.

Pictures here if any one gives a shit:

New fork seals ordered this afternoon in readiness for the progressive
    springs installation.

I managed to give it a brief run on the new shocks, but the weather was
somewhat shitty. The usual 70mph wobble did not manifest itself,
although I forsee lots of tweaking ond c-spannering in my future.

A sound choice - although, if these are your leathers, you might as
well have had the gay bolts:

I mean - Funky? Do you have a name change due shortly?

Akkshirley, Hagon were a pleasure to deal with.
An exchange of emails, a phone call and all was done.
The bloke who builds the shocks up for each type of bike was apparently
going on holiday today, so when I phoned yesterday to confirm the order
he said he'd get 'em built up straight away to save me waiting for
them. The bushes were exactly the right sizes, so, other than having
to remove the cans to get at the bottom brackets, the job was pretty
much a doddle. All in all, ?400 (total) well spent, happy fucking
    birthday to me (last Thursday).

Next job are the progressive fork springs. I have ordered a set of
genuine Kawasaki seals (?30 fucking quid), so am currnetly
contemplating whether to geton and have a go myself, take up Sweller's
offer and go to Brighton, or throw myself upon more local spanner
gods..... erm, Pip, you got much on ATM?

I still like that bike. The shocks look like they came off a Hyundai Accent
though:) I'll say nowt about your sartorial elegance.
Yeah, don't throw that bike down the road. Btw, are those Laser pipes you've
    got on it?

Oi, you can **** *right orf*, I resemble that remark.
I did have a 4 into 1 Lazer on it briefly. It ran a bit too lean and
was a bit too loud. Also, the Zephyr's swingarm is not a thing of
beauty, and was on show on the left hand side. I sourced a new OEM
pipe set from ebay and restored the bike's chi (after I had mullered
all the internal baffling from the pipes though).

And wearing that funky gear, you'll get plenty of rmarks.
I have an inkling to get their 4 into 4 setup, but I'd definitely have to
hear them first. Loud pipes don't do it for me on the road anymore. Well not
unless they're on a twin potter.

    Beav coughed up:
I fitted an obscenely loud can to my old CB500.
Trouble is, living in a semi rural area one all too often encounters
horses, so it became a bit stressful out and about.

The Lazer can on the Zephyr was not as loud, but still too loud. Also,
the fucking end can didn't fit to the hanger too wellso the whole thing
    was a bit crap.

I like the chrome twin zorsts on retro bikes

I've got silly pipes on the VN and it sets off *every* alarm I happen to
pass with the throttle open. Amusing for a while, but it gets irritating
when you've got to pass a parked up plodmobile.
    Yeah, me too.
