Had a go on my Daytona...

    Fell off.

    Bugger.

Didn't hurt though - thanks MJK, and Loz for the recommendation on the
armour. Didn't have a bruise on me. Slowly peeling into a roundabout
    - turned left, banked right and that was it.

Anyone know where I can get some replacement bits cheap then? I've
discovered already that "Triumph" and "cheap" are mutually exclusive,
but every little helps. Ebay's turning up nothing either.

The list of bits needed is the usual RHS stuff - mirror, indicator,
fairings, levers. Oh, and some crash bungs as well.

That was careless, glad you're ok and your kit worked though. If I turn
any parts up on my travels then I'll let you know.

Oh feck. Got any wounds you want treating?
Your definition of slow is subjective (well obviously, because all
conceptual information is - hmm can it be both a concept and
information in the sense of...OK it's all right, I'm stopping now)
    Slippy road surface?
    SWWK will be along shortly.
But aren't they supposed to stop the other stuff breaking?

  6. newer than yours.

you may also have an indicator.

ICBW but I thought the mirror you had was a left one.

    99. The mirror is fine, apart from having the brass bolt threads stuck
in the holes. If I could get them out and get some new bolts it'd be
perfectly serviceable. However, that'll be much easier said than done
with the available tools. What would I need for such a job?

I've been in town, the kids are due back in less than half an hour and
I need to do stuff - if I ever warm up.

    <thinks>
I take it he didn't have crash bungs on it but now he's getting some.
    Bear with me here...

    Clumsy ****.
    Indeed. You clumsy ****.
If I trip over any, I'll let you know.
See that stable door? That's a horse bolting away from it ...

Commiserations, mate. It could have been a whole lot worse.

The indicator will be handy, although I was going to do the half-melted
    one at the same time.

Ta. What's the deal with dealers and spare parts - all the same price
or likely to be a bit of difference? Is it worth shopping around?

It was the roundabout sprite crossing the road. You obviously ran him
over. He's probably lying there in agony right now, all his natural
energy seeping away, his etheric form unravelling as he crawls across
the unforgiving tarmac, reaching out to grasp the thin green sward
that will renew him and heal his injuries.

Bastard. I hope you're proud of yourself. Poor little thing didn't
    know what hit him.
    ..
I've got there now. Is this a good point to go 'it's only a bike?'

  16. (1) Pair of aftermarket ones - cheaper than a single one from Triumph.
    (2) As above.
    (3) Glass fibre repair kit, epoky, wet & dry, touch-up paint. Then keep
scouring Fleabay for the right panels.

    (4) See 1 & 2 above)

Less than a ton until the replacement panels turn up.

At least, not for genuine Trumf kit.

    Lady Nina says...
It never had any before. It's a case of bolting the stable door after
the horse has done a runner.

At this point, I would like to point out that today was spent drilling
two 25mm holes in my 9R fairing and fitting some R&G crash protectors.

let me have a word with 'a friend in the trade'. I managed to score a
01 model SV650S right side top fairing brand new last week for 100ukp,
and R&G bungs for 55 quid, for the same bike. It wasn't like he had them
in stock and wanted them shifted, he has to order both in.
