Found what I think is a good buy on a 03 1200 sportster
    11000 miles 5K (bank payoff)
lots of extras added. Tires are new.

feed back please, What do I need to look for and questions to ask?

Always remember before you can become old and wise you must be young and
    stupid.
    I'm stuck somewhere in between.

    Growing old is mandatory.
    Growing up is optional.

The price is a little above average trade-in in the Kelly Blue Book
    (kbb.com), but not obscenely so.

A good source fro all things Sportster is sportster.org .

    Good luck.

Really.... I guess that kinda' lets the air out of the constant
drumbeat of Harley value appreciation. Either that, or the
Sportster model just doesn't participate in appreciation.

Like any vehicle, a Harley will depreciate for years, untill it becomes a
collectible. It just loses value slower than many other bikes.

The Sportster is the "entry level" Harley, and as such, there are a lot
    made and sold.

The 2003 Sporty was the last to have a rigid mounted motor. In 2004,
Sportys have rubber mounted engines, which reduce vibration quite a bit.

Prices for used Harleys, and new ones for that matter, aren't as crazy as
they used to be in many parts of the country. Folks in Texas are still
    mighty proud of them, though.

I bought my ElectraGlide Classic in Sacramento for MSRP, no wait, last
December. I'll probably be bringing it back to Texas sometime next month,
and may have some free time, so maybe I can show it off to some of y'all.

I'm not a Harley man, but I'd ask for an '04. I think the difference between
an '03 and '04 is substantial.

If you like the '03 bike I think the price is o.k. I would take it on a
ride of a few miles at 75-80mph before I fell too far in love. Verify that
all recommended service is up to date. After the ride if you like it, buy
    it.

I'm might be through your area tomorrow. Are you going to be around? I'll
like to stop by and met you, maybe talk a little m/c.
