Didn't they change the later models so that the mod doesn't work anymore as you can't fit
a big enough bulb in there. MCN mutters about this and other euro laws today.

Still with one light it's better at night than many cars I've been in :)

I guess you must be slow like me then.

(You're talking about on dip aren't you, as both lights work similtaneously
on mine on full beam) ?

Is that some sort of Corfield effect? ;o)
Necessitating a hasty retreat towards coffee and toast I found.
The organic blue stilton I bought before Christmas has just launched a world
    takeover bid, YUM.

I know. But they seem fine on dip - I used to ride back down the A38 "mad
mile" at midnight last year and I could see well on dipped or main. Was
still a little scary though as riding in the dark at 70+ on unlit winding
roads feels a bit like a computer game to me...

What part of the A38 is winding and unlit?!?

Between Lichfield and Bassetts Pole. Scary as (especially going towards
    Bassetts).

That's a fine bit of road, and not at all scary except for when the M6
toll construction traffic had left mud everywhere.

For scary try the un-numbered road between Hulland Ward and Derby, in
    the dark, when it's misty.

  8. Heh, reminds me a bit of one of my old bosses who got very upset with
his new Merc E class (somewhere mid 90s) that had one square doormirror
and one oblong one. He refused to take delivery off it on the grounds
that it looked lopsided. Eventually he took it home at the promise
of sourcing a mirrored mirror from a country where they drive on the
    other side of the road.

    ;-)

Have you seen the new M6 roundabout in between Bassets and Birmingham? It's
too small and the lighting frequently fails. I would have thought that when
someone crashed into it EVERY DAY during construction they would have
    redesigned it. Mooks.

It's fun in the car if you ignore the lane markings and go 20-30MPH
    faster than everyone else.

Bugger. Just restating, Yer Honner, for the hard of thinking and them
    amnesiacs amongst us.
Summat like that - similar to, but obviously less pronounced than the
    Cibe effect:

    " cibe -

noun: a person/thing that acts in a very homosexual way, i.e. in a
village people way. adverb: a very stupid way of doing something.

Age, stop acting like a cibe. "

Aren't they standard on Australian models. I know that 916s had both
lights working on dip and main for the Oz market because local law says
that if fitted, both lights must work.

I know someone who had the Oz conversion done to his 916

If you step outside for a tab about now you should be able to catch a whif
of this one from over there.

Rhencullen do Gixxer top sections with better lights. Bit pricey though.

My current plan is for an ARD colour impregnated race fairing with handy
lighting attached. Useful ideas on lights gratefully received.
