Has anyone modified their K1/2 so that both headlights come on on dip?

From what I can gather I'll need a new bulb as the un-lit one is a
single filament bulb, but I don't know if the wiring will need
modifying and web searches aren't turning up much.

But the reflector on the high beam side is probly all wrong to give you a
beam cutoff. Try a better bulb, dem new Halfords 50% brighter jobs are the
    DB.

Good point, will make a trip to Halfords at the weekend as I was going
to get some 'blue' brighter bulbs anyway.

Because I don't think one headlight is enough.

Those bulbs are shite. No brighter really and poor focus. The BMW club did a
test of various bulbs last year and found the fancy Phillips bulbs of
standard wattage outperformed the high powered snakeoil by dint of superior
    focus.
I only recommend the new Halfords bulbs because I'm actually using them in
the cage. Avoid the (so called) 25% brighter predecessor.

Cos it's fucking stupid having a twin headlight system, and then only
having one light working most of the time.

Plus, the bike looks all lop-sided with one on and one off. And, for
the proper endurance racer look[1], you want both of them on.

[1] where the whole itwin headlight idea came from. Have you ever
noticed that when leant over your headlight doesn't illuminate the
road as well as you'd like? Well, the endurance racers addressed this
by adjusting the light direction so that it worked when lent over.
Obviously, for left and right corners you need two lights. Of course,
when you're upright both lights point at the sky...

In addition to stopping twats telling you that one of your lights isn't
working (as my mate gets a lot of the time with his CBR6).

I seem to be the only person who thinks the standard light is fine.

Oh quite possible, but considering Ben has said he's going to use the bike
"Only for pleasure" I can't see him using it at night much, and therefore I
    fail to see the point.

Unless blinding other road users ala Nidge is now the way forward?

There is a difference between blinding other people having powerful
    headlight.

And yes, mostly it's Champ's point about having a twin headlight bike.
I think it looks a bit crap only having one lit.

Must be, standard headlight is utter shit.
When I first collected it and rode from Hull to MattG Fest at night in the
rain, then from the BearNest to Holyhead also at night on the Welsh A-Roads
I skirted the Grim Reaper a dozen times (1)
Even good bulbs don't make it safe in the way of the Great White K or Elly's
    CBR.
I'm thinking twin Cibe Oscars for Gixxer Reborn, 24Hr Endurance stylee )

Interesting weather in SE Belfast just now BTW. I'm watching the street
light outside bend a good 3ft in this gale.

    (1) inappropriate speed yada yada

    Suzuki headlights are, ime.
Elly's bloody CBR lights are stunning. I cannot ride in front of her
at night and be safe, for with my 80W dip beam on, I'm still riding in
my own shadow from her 55W dip beam.
That would be smart, although I found Lucas 20/20 lights with their
homofoacl reflectors to be superior to Oscars in every respect. That
was a few years ago mind, beofre the current crop of hi-tech lights.
Just seen the weather forecast on Beeb1 and the weather does indeed
look like it is about to turn "interesting". It was wonderfully mild
this morning, and so I stirred out onto the patio to eye up the CBR
engine/Rat interface. In the space of 30 minutes the temperature then
dropped a good 5 deg C as the wind freshened and started to gust a
    bit.

Love it. Feels almost exactly like the 750 to ride but with more
    punch.

I've not had a proper ride yet, only ridden home from Tamworth on it
and the tyres are brand new. As soon as they're scrubbed I'll be able
    to get a better idea.

And it's not that I don't like the headlights, I just think it looks
like it's broken without one lit.

That's nothing. When I got my bike, after a couple of weeks I noticed
that only one bulb was lit on dip, so I went to the bike shop to get a
    new bulb...
