    Actually, you're smack on there.

Gawd knows how many years ago, I used to ride to work in a pair of
jeans, trainers and a leather jacket in winter [1]. Funnily enough it
was only my hands I remember getting cold!

Oxford was still under fog at 1400hrs today when I picked the bike up.
Temperature +1 celsius. My visor had no chance so I had to ride visor up
with specs covered in water. Lack of visibility forced me to opt for the
    motorway route.

Around Swindon the sun came out and temperature +8. So a brief enjoyable
spell was had before the fog descended again and my fingers nearly froze
off. 1 stop at Chippenham services and then on home.

The cold wasn't too bad until the fog made me wet as well. So it is quite
possible that I might venture out again this week. As a fair weather biker,
I don't mind warm wet roads, and cold dry ones are probably fine as well,
but cold wet ones fill me with dread.

The bike has a Meta cat1 alarm which is a bonus (maybe), if owner number 2
had it fitted I might be able to get the documentation from him.

You own a Gixxer but can't stretch to A FOG CITY visor insert?
    Get a reactolite one BTW.

I had one of those, but it had been painted orange. Which oddly was much
the same colour as most of our furniture in 1972.

It's a pity my trike didn't have a little metal luggage box for me to
    fill with mud.

I had one too, but it had been painted red. Badly. I didn't care
though - I was only 6. I lost any nascent faith in God. I had prayed
for a pedal car, and got the trike. Actually, being a real chain
driven thing, it was much better than a pedal car, and I rode it all
around the neighbourhood, but at the time, it was a disappointment.
I didn't have the luggage box either. Just as well; I'd have put all
my most precious possessions in it and lost them.
