GSXR Changing Power Curve.... Help!!!

On my first few rides I hadn't been taking the GSXR up to the redline as the
power dips before it gets there, so I presumed it had peaked. The other day,
the bike appeared to have dropped down a gear and gave a kick in the power
between 13.5k and 14.5k revs, with the red zone starting at 14k.

Since I found out that it has a kick up there, I have revved it hard a few
times, and had noticed that sometimes it had the kick an others it didn't,
    with no apparent pattern.

Whilst out on a ride today, the bike gave the same sensation that it had
dropped a gear, but it hadn't. So now I'm thinking there is something wrong.

The only thing that springs to mind is that something must be sticking in
the carbs, and occasionally getting free, meaning that I get my high up
powerband, and the kick (like dropping a gear) at the point it does break
    loose.

I cleaned to carbs out a couple of times before I got the bike on the road,
and I don't want to take them off unless I really have to, as the airbox
rubbers aren't exactly a joy to work with.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    TIA

You may just have worn carbs, the slides ware, which in turn cause the
needles and the hole in the emulsion tubes to wear. The up shot of
which, your bike runs like poo. Or, it could be a dirt or varnish in the
carbs if it hasn't seen much use. Could be a combination of everything,
plus someone fucking around with them too.

They all do that. Better get rid of it.
I'll give you ten quid for it.

(My 1100 engine ought to fit in the chassis....)

Not that I've noticed, but I'll look out for it next time I get out on the
    bike.
