has any one fitted or knows if a head from a 750m will fit a 750l, any
associated problems, valve clearances etc etc ?

If the valves are the same length and you use the original camshaft, check
    the shims,I`d have thought not.
Measure the valve-head dia. if the latter is bigger you might have a problem
with them hitting the piston crown if it has insufficient cutaway.
*note* I have never done this particular swap so don`t blame me if it goes
    tits-up;-)
Just some things to look out for.

    Previously on usenet, Petel said...
I am pretty sure the L and M motor is the same unit. I had an L model
many years ago, and the M was only slightly different in bodywork.

  4. The 1100M head had shims instead of screw&locknut tappets.
I don't know if the 750 changed at the same time.
The 750M probably had bigger carbs than the L too.

The 750L is tappets, the 750M is buckets and shims.

The M model was when they changed from tappets to shims, so it is
    different.

  8. There is a website with most of the known swaps - but I'm buggered if I
can find it. Somebody here posted it last year; it might pop up again.

thanks for your comments all, i know the bore & stroke are the
same, carbs are the same, not sure if the valves will take out the
    pistons though ?

  12. Maybe your news server dropped the message with the site address in
    it...

    http://hometown.aol.com/ffastcbr/motorswaping.htm

    It seems fairly comprehensive.

If the cam lift is the same, you probably won't hit anything. Dry bolt
the head on (with and old head gasket) with a bit of plasticine on the
crown of a piston and rotate a cam to open a valve. Bring the piston up
to tdc and see how much clearance you have by the mark in the
    plasticine.
