I noticed a bike for sale on the way home today, but didnt stop to have a
look. I think it was a GSXR 400RR ($2500) or something like that, i only got
a quick glance, but the sign said that it was learner legal.

So when i got home i had a look at the RTA LAM list and couldnt find it,
    there is a GSX400E &
GSX400F but i have no idea if they are the same thing. Does anyone know?

    BTW here is the list...

    Thanks once again

  2. From what I've heard and read (someone I know used to have one, but can't
remember who), they're a bike for someone who'd rather nail their dick to a
board than ride something other than a Suzuki... fragile engines. They used
to be imported here in the mid 80's, but they've all blown up and those
around the dealers now are all grey imports and disproportionately pricy. In
all my trips to Metro Spares, I don't recall seeing a single one in there
being wrecked. By comparison, RG250's, which sold alongside the GSX-R400,
are still common. What sort of conclusion can you draw about a model's
popularity from its being virtually invisible next to its contemporary 250
    two-stroke alternative?

Even if they are a good bit of gear, they really are too thin on the ground
to be a good purchase. You want something that'll give you a ready supply of
spares should things go bang or splat.

So when i got home i had a look at the RTA LAM list and couldnt find it,
hmm it looks like they are both unfaired models, the one i seen is fully
    faired.

  5. A GSX400 is a twin, similar to a GSX250, GSXR400 is a faired sportsbike,
    nothing like the same.

About it being a LAM, no idea.

NO they aren't. The R is not learner legal, the bod with the sign
misread the list. (And could be in trouble if someone relies on that
    sign...)

The R is the sport model, and has a better power to weight ratio.

  8. Gixer 400RR is not LAM.

    Not on the list.

Is very different to a GS400E and GS400F.
