Anyone test ridden one of these??? It's time to replace the tiring GS and I
figure I need to make an informed yet irrational decision when buying the
next bike. With the discounts being offered at the moment, it seems to good
    to pass up ($12 900) + ORC.

Is that when you know what suits your needs and budget, but you buy
    something else anyway?

I took one for a spin. Had a Micron exhaust on it. Bloody big bike but went
like a shower of shit. If I had the spare money I would snap one up in a
    second.

  5. I posted about this exact bike/price just last week,i like it looks like a
    real muscle bike

It is exceptional value and consider it is a simple air-cooled powerplant to
    boot

Many web sites are dedicated to this bike and 99.94% who own them are happy
    with her

Best you take a long test ride and decide yourself, your buying it after all

Japs being Japs expect the others with similar clone bike to drop said
    prices to same said level

Haven't ridden one but have ridden with someone who's got one, and it fucking
goes. It's strange riding behind someone who's sitting bolt upright with
little or no wind protection doing 240kph... Apparently after a few minutes at
200+kph it's necessary to slow down and give your neck and arms a rest for a
    while though.

Nice bike, basic suspension, a bit too upright - bumps go straight up the
spine. Low seat, which might suit someone looking for a girl's bike :)

umm big and heavy and a bit wobbly at extremes , but then again is that what
    you use the bike for

hp isnt that high for the size but apparently lotsa torque , exhaust stems
is figgen heavy and restrictive and a end will work miracles, full syem even
more so, apparently throttle bodies from hyabusa fit straight on/or wif the
fuggen around and i think hyabusa cams like wise.

seems popular , it the retro bikes tests, it usually up against the fazer
1000, kwaka zrx1200, suz bandit 1200, and yama xjr1300 usually (but not
always) results go from last to first

    bandit 1200, xjr1300, gsx1400, xjr1200 and fazer 1000

If you're at the extremes on a GSX1400 then you got the wrong machine maybe?
Full Yoshis add 25 hp and take off 20kg (or 20 and 25).... shows how detuned
    the original GSX1400 package is!

apparently throttle bodies from hyabusa fit straight on/or wif the
So get a Bus if that's what you want.
and now the CB1300..... looks the goods!

Smooth as silk, pulls like a train, needs a new snorkel!
At the price don't think twice. When AUD shifts down price will go up and
you win with resale later..... maybe.

    <snip>

So the standard exhaust weighs 20 or 25kg _plus_ whatever the Yoshi
    exhaust weighs?

That sound you hear is my 'invented statistic' meter going off.

  13. I test rode one and compared it to the yammy XJR1300 and the Kwaka (name escapes me). I personally preferred the yammy (but then again, I wanted carbs, not FI) but the Suzi would run a real close second. I ended up not buying anything (yet).

After doing a few long, tiring runs on naked bikes, I think a faired bike may be a better option anyway....

This thing is bloody huge... so is my bike!

A full Yoshi system is about $1800, I was surprised at that price, thought
it would be more. A Remus system, replacing from the collector box costs
$900 or so, apparently nice but not too loud. Yoshis always seems to have a
    healthy exhaust note!

There's also a number of screens available for them, even Suzi have one,
just enough to knock the wind factor down on long rides/

heavy and wobbly?????, my current hack is a 1980 Suzi Gs1000. Almost
anything is going to feel razor sharp. It's going to have to get me to work
and back but I want to do the big miles with it. I'd rather find some
    economy than extra power.

    Cheers

May also be a discount to move a backlog of '03 build machines. Hence the
discount may haunt you later..... check the build date.

Pah, slap some knobbies on it and I'll play chasey with Sharks in the
forest..... if he can catch me.

Apart from that, i'm not sure I want to replace one 80's ill handling barge
with another one, then again, it's an amusing idea...

Yeah, the $2000 you save now might be $2000 you don't get when you sell it.
I'd suggest paying $16,990 now and insisting on an '05 plated bike.
