Grey leader reports - Jurby results

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Work in progress, May 19, 2007.

  1. A somewhat over excited Champ has asked me to pass on the results
    before I go out.

    600 race - 4th
    Open race - 7th

As he said, there were some fast boys out there and he's very happy
    with those positions.

He didn't say a word about any text messgaes regarding TT entry
though, so no idea if he's taken the bait or worked it out :)

They're good finishes and he's right to be happy.
He might have sussed it because he got me the sim card in exchange for
my original one but I don't know if he bothered to save the number
before he handed the card over.

I wonder if "go Champ" translates into something embarrassing in South
    America?

  7. If you can pass it back, or if he reads this, well done.

Teach a man to fish and he and his pikey mates will have the
river cleaned out in a day.

He phoned last night at about 11pm to ask if I'd activated the sim
    card.

Knowing that he'd see the posts on here as soon as he got home I felt
I had to come clean about the whole thing and tell him Burnt made me
    do it.

Apparently there's a very nice voicemail left from before he knew
who'd left the message. I wonder if I've got the time and the
enthusiasm to transfer it to a bit of web space so people can listen
    to it?

    "made me do it".

That's suggested it and when prompted said "yes" I think.

I think you have a duty to.

  12. Well done that young man.

Unfortunately it looks like I need to be in Victoria (BC) before
the end of the Manx GP, so no pit-crewing for me this year. :-(

I went through the first couple and thought "cracking stoppie there,
he was lucky to get away with that".

    Then I saw he wasn't.

    Congrats on the results.

What the hell did he do? Completely miss his braking point, or
    something?

  19. Strangely, he's got his foot down in the first pic - making it look as
if he was shitting himself mightily there preparatory to ditching it.

The two pics airborne are classics, though.

  20. Sounds like a brainfart took place and he sort of blanked the corner,
leading to a hugely 'oshit' moment when it dawned, and the ready
trotting out of Racers Excuse No 4a - 'brakes didn't work'.
Heh. It was utterly amazing how nobody got skittled.
