I don't think I've chucked money at the bike since I bought it,
    servicing and consumables aside.

Point of order here: as someone who has been involved in both private
healthcare AND manufacturing in the last couple years, I take the view
that dealing with anything involving the HCC / CQC is way more stressful
than anything I'm likely to come up against in mfg.

Don't worry Ginge is no judge of these things. He works for Big blue and
in his spare time works out as an unpaid stunt man.

TBF in the latter endeavour he is pretty successful.

Like anything one has to choose ones territory. I don't mean *Private
Healthcare*. I mean private healthcare as in PFI. Delivering clinical
services privately is way way too much like hard work and in the UK too
many fucked up public bodies hate you enough to try and make life
    difficult.

You don't get on with your RM Collection Office?

  11. Stress is your response to the situation around you, if you're
stressed, you are the only one to blame.

That's not entirely true, people can be backed into very stressful
    situations.
I'm very careful to avoid that and keep my life blissfully stress free.

  13. It is.
Only if they are weak or accept the position into which they are being ushered.
Well there you go proving my point for me.

Complete bollocks. Unless you consider that one's desire to keep a job
under difficult circumstances is your own fault. Would being
unemployed be less stressful? Well, maybe, but maybe not, eh?

  15. Pressure and stress are not the same thing.

You have a choice, you make the choice. Perhaps if you are at the point
where your only option is to quit, or do domething that you really
don't want to do, you should have done something sooner - it's not like
these things are often completely out of the blue.
Being unemployed isn't stressful. Allowing yourself to run out of money
and be unable to support yourself could be.

Who mentioned pressure? Circumstances such as I allude to are
    stressful in and of themselves.
Sure, they're usually the culmination of longer-term issues, but so
what? Not many of us have the luxury of just walking away from things
if they're not going our way. Working in a project which is painfully
going in the wrong direction when all your best advice has been
ignored, for example, will be stressful. The option to walk away may
or may not be available, but sometimes personal feelings have to take
second plae to business benefit, and that may mean sticking around in
a project to make sure that your users don't get completely screwed.
    For example.
The one would inevitably, in time, lead to the other. For me, that is.
And the worry of that time approaching would certainly be stressful,
even though Swiss unemployment benefit would provide 80-odd grand[1] a
    year for 18 months.

[1] CHF, of course, not Sterling.

  18. It wasn't for me - I gave my advice, gently and again firmly, if 'they'
didn't want to heed it, then that was fine by me - nothing to get
stressed about. Of course, 'they' would then become increasingly
stressed because things wouldn't go right, or were drifting yet further
from schedule, but I knew inside me that I had done everything
possible, therefore the outcome was not for me to stress over.
Really? You couldn't generate any incoming cash without replacing your
full salary? You wouldn't be able to minimise your outgoings at all,
    etc?
Wouldn't it be better to do something about it rather than stress?
I don't know what that means in terms of living costs, but you'd have
to be a real fucking muppet to not be able to generate any income in 18
    months.

Now you leave those Harley blokes alone. My hairdresser pal is getting

Anyone fancy a nice BMW 1200GS?

    I'm losing count now.

You clearly have no understanding of what 'Stress' means, so there's
    no point arguing.
