    Meh. I don't have the contact lens excuse, as apart from anything
    else, I could not abide putting them in. Anything going near my eyes
    and I'm in a squalling ball of fury. Sitting here now waiting for the
    initial codeine rush to abate so I can drive myself to the hospital.
    Best go and charge the car battery, I suppose, 'cos it'll be flattish,
    having done no more than fifty miles in a month.

    And it was: ignition lights until I turned the key, then fuckall.
    Charging now at a steady three amps, which means it was a pancake.

    In effect yes - but given I haven't driven since 7th March 2009 my
    licence has well and truly lapsed.

    It's always an option.
