There was barely a bang on the roads in E. Gippsland during the long
    weekend.
Snr, Serg. Dave Carey (Bairnsdale) was interviewed on local, regional ABC on
the subject this morning. He had organized a heavy visual police presence
and was very pleased with the lack of activity.
He was also quizzed on his just completed road safety program targeting
m.bikes, and conducted on the G. A. Hwy, which started last summer. This
was funded with resources from the $50 reg'n levee. There was only one minor
reported accident during that period. There had been 8 deaths over the
previous 5 years. Enforcement was seconded from all about, and I think was
mainly a weekend activity.. As some may have found, the tactic used
frequently was to have several enforcement units within close proximity to
one-another. The area most frequented was Nth of Omeo.
Me thinks expect more of the same in the future. This again was the tactic
used last weekend; at one stage there were 5 units working between Traralgon
    and Sale.

  2. Its the result of the Inquiry into the Country Road toll, Nev. This time of
year has been linked with a higher than "acceptable" bike prangs. Hence why
the coppers are out in farce.

  6. If he's not pumping first thing in the morning then it's last thing at
night. He blames it on flat tyres and leaky air beds but we all know he had
    a blow up ewe.

Did you burst it the last night Sharks?

  8. Ta, they didn't send me a windcheater though!
He does, but he pressed it too early and fell asleep on the couch.

Plagued by air leaks, I tell you. These B-M-Double-Ewes might
sound like a good idea, but ...

(actually, I'm damn glad it was a tubeless front ... it's going to
need replacing anyway, there's still a slow leak, either the plug
didn't quite work or there's another leak somewhere, but the plug
thing was a lot easier than trying to get the tyre off the rim, and
    it's lasted 1000km so far ...
Goaty threatened to chop it into little pieces ... I think he's
just jealous that the airbed snored louder than he did ...

Travelled Alpine on Saturday from NSW to Bairnsdale No sign of any
    police , pretty wet though.
return trip Monday. no cops, no rain, just wankers at MtHotham trying to
charge money to get into village.

    gate fees, n'est ce pas?
    Can anyone confirm this?

Sheesh, OK, OK! But with three kids under the age of 6 and another on
the way, all things take their own sweet time ...
    Give me a week, eh?

You'll be needing a Tarago, or an environmentally unfriendly 4WD soon
