Looks like a few bags of building gravel got scattered
in the eastbound lane of Claremont Avenue in Berkeley,
    between Alvarado and Grizzly Peak.

Some was in a good spot to catch riders who like to
apex turns. The corners in question had been clean
the last few years, so the surprise potential is
    higher than usual.

  2. anyone who assumes that a corner is unchanged from a YEAR ago deserves
what they are going to get. no, ok, noone deserves a crash, but they
are asking for one if they go fly around turns at speeds where they can't
see their path in time to correct for road hazards like gravel, sand, etc.

My GirlF rides that every day (lucky her). It changes day to day.
She has the phone numbers for Berkeley and Oakland in her cell phone.
We've also rousted nearby friends with bikes to all call. This got a
big dump of sand on a corner near our house picked up pretty quickly.

Now, about that chuck of pavement enterying 13N from
Thornhill/montclair... looks like the road is falling away.
