I'm putting back together my Gpz550 (ZX550A4) and have found that one
of the diaphrams has a hole in it (Keihin CV30's). The local bike shop
quoted me £84 for a replacement which is rather steep since I can pick
up a complete second hand set of carbs for that (and have change left
    over).

    So two questions:

    - does anybody do a diaphram replacement service or 3rd party
alternative to the Kwak originals or
    - if I go to a breakers and get a bank of carbs how much flexability
do I have on models to get them from.

    Cheers

  2. NRP Carburettors in Coventry - you have to send them the diaphragm and
slide, and they manufacture a complete replacement. Turnaround's maybe a
    week.

Cost is about ukp30. They did an excellent job on my Z400's diaphragms.

  3. Better still is Flexible Superglue - like Superglue only, er, flexible.
I used that on my Z400's diaphragms and it worked well, but the
diaphragms were really so ,old and perished that new holes kept
    appearing elsewhere. :-/
