Ok...I just ordered the mounting deal for my fine GPS and its a Ram Mount
System. It cost me 65.00 bucks for it all. They have any kind of set up you
want to mount just about anything you would ever want on your bikes. Check
them out..Talk to Berry and tell him Brad sent ya. Hes located in Austin,Tx.

Well hell, pard.. Put it on a ram mount and it will work just fine.. Ed Hart
    thinks
you got lost anyway, so maybe he can help.. Then .. if that don't work out
    for
you, Bjay can certainly tell you how to do it, just by asking questions
    about it..

All else fails.. buy a roadmap.. hmmm.. don't know if that would help a com-
puter or not, but at least you won't get lost anymore.. lol..

That duct tape thing is the way to go.. Hell, you can fix anything with that
    stuff..
That Green Vulcan has got half a roll on it, right now.. sheesh.. The
    carburetor
is even held onto the intake with duct tape.. Gotta love it.. Sure will be
    glad
when someone goes into the motorcycle business in the metroplex, so we
don't have to wait for parts and stuff..

No one got lost..We had a GPS with us anyways. I just bought one so I
can add some more weight to that goldwing to slow that damn thing down a
little. If that Ram Mount deal dont work out, theres always duct tape or
bailing wire or tie straps or velcro. One way or the other it will get
    mounted by next week.

Are you saying, that the Voyager came with one?

I went by Fry's to look at the GPS. It looks okay, but it's white. I
can't have white. White would clash....something terrible!

I looked at the TomTom Rider though and I believe that's the one I'll
buy. The only issue I see with it is mounting it. I won't be able to
mount it using the hardware that comes with it because I don't have a
round bar on the blackbird. I won't be able to use the suction cup,
because there isn't a flat spot on the bird either. I looked at the
Ram Mounts and found one to fit the TomTom Rider. The mount replaces
the clamp from the master cylinder. It looks like it'll work, but I'm
afraid the windscreen would be too close and not allow the clearance
needed for the GPS to be unrestricted.

The biggest factors which led me to the Rider was the waterproof
design and the bluetooth that goes into the helmet for voice
instructions and telephone calling. I can justify the extra expense
for the GPS by not getting a Scala Rider for cellphone usage.

The TomTom is a good one. I wasnt even thinking about a GPS until
these guys at work started going on and on about the MIO and how it
was on sale and it was a good deal and all that. I usually dont travel
anywhere anyway that I dont have a printed out map unless I am
traveling with the human map or someone that knows where were going.
Did you find a Ram Mount local or you having to order it? I have
speakers so I didnt have to worry about any of that in your helmet
speaker deals and as far as blue tooth for the phone, I do think that
    would be handy.

I normally wouldn't consider the extra bucks for a GPS other than I
travel ALOT and need one. I usually use my laptop, but my laptop won't
fit on the Bird. As Jerry said, once you ride with voice prompts,
you'll be hooked. I don't know if you'd be able to hear the Mio with
the voice prompts. I know with the rush of wind, helmet and the engine
noise I wouldn't be able to hear it.

On the Ram Mount, the only dealer in Texas is somewhere around Austin,
and they're online only and mark up the prices. Might as well just go
to the source and buy from the website.

Well I have to tell ya, if I hold my head just right, tilting my ear a
little to the left, the lady who recorded the voice prompts for my
Streetpilot III sounds just like my first wife. And if I am doing a
little exploring, forcing the unit to recalculate, every time she
tells me the unit is "Offroute recalculating" she seems to get just a
little angrier, just like when my first wife was nagging me over
trivial shit like having motorcycle parts on the kitchen table.

Having the ability to turn her off, brings a big smile to my face.

Needless to say I prefer not to use the voice prompts.

Yeah, have you seen the price tag on it? With no hopes of lowering the
prices on the Zumo and less features than the TomTom Rider, I'm
thinking not even looking in the direction of the Garmin....

Morgan Kane I sure like the way you're thinking. These boys have the big
engined bikes and want a Honda Rebel GPS. With those big engines all they
want to do is race. They get one of those starter units, it ain't gotta keep
    up with their locations.

They need to unass the money and be 1st class. I know you'll be getting the
Garmin Zumo. Good luck with it.
