I just purchased a new Garmin 76cx GPSr. I'm looking for a mount and was
tossing around the Garmin mount which I have never seen, and the RAM
mounts version which looks pretty tough, and I have seen their stuff and
it's very sturdy. It doesn't look very stylish though, where the Garmin
    seems nicer.

    Any thoughts??

I've used a RAM with a Garmin Quest for the last 3 years with no issues at
all. It really has been a fit and forget solution, so based on that, I
wholeheartedly recommend RAM, as does everyone who uses their systems it
    seems.

Please bear in mind this is a sample of one, and I am recommending what I
    own.

    Bonjour,

After have met several people with Garmin 76/60 on fixed mounts who had
difficulties with breaking the battery contacts I tried to find another
    solution.
After some experiments what I use now gives full satisfaction after one year
    of use:

'I mounted a flat strip of aluminium on the bar and put a rectangular piece
of (dense) foam(5 cm thick)on it with rubberbands made of an inner tube. On
top of that I fixed the 76CX also with rubberbands (going under the alu
strip of course) and even in rough terrain it stays well fixed...
