Gotta love Freecycle

In an hour or so I'll be heading off inna stinky van to get me a whole 1982
XJ550 wot has sat since 1994 in a garage. Part-way through restoration
apparently. Yum!

Not too shabby as freebies go

 

it's a lot shinier than I expected it to be - did you wash & polish it or
did it come like that?

 

Are the forks/brakes the same as the early 350LC?

 

That's exactly how I got it. New chain & sprockets, Motad exhaust, FuckKnows
rear shocks, good enough tyres, even a can of colour-matched paint with it,
and a handbook!

 

Everything except front brakes then?

 

They're hanging off a bit of string tied to the frame - he took them off
because they were starting to drag and it was difficult for him to move it.

 

Oh, and a new set of fork seals and dust caps. And a chain splitter for some
reason.
