Got it and really like it.

  1. The XR125L, that is. Had a really nice ride in to work this morning as
it wasn't lashing it down like it was on saturday and on the trip to the
supermarket yesterday. I'm getting more confident with the bike now, and
looking forward to having the engine run in so I can use the full rev.
range. I've got 50 mph out of it so far, but have to wait for 600 miles
to hit the lofty 65 it's alleged to do. Thanks a lot for your help and
things and for motivating me enough to go and get a bike.

Quick question though, if you don't mind, it takes a few goes to get it
going in the morning, is this just a damp/cold thing?

    Thanks in advance.

More likely it is a rider familiarity thing.

Laverdas excepted, a brand spanking new bike should start just by
    looking at it really.

  4. The engine is feeling a lot more 'free' after 50 miles, already, and I'm
really having fun through some of the bends on the way to work. Only 550 left
    to go.

  5. <ahem> It was the choke. I'm not used to it, see. But now it's fine. But I
keep forgetting to close it now. Is about a mile a good distance to close it
    after starting? Thanks. Dave.
