Got in a bit of a jam...

  1. Stopped for a cuppa and a bacon buttie at a little homely café somewhere
near Horton-in-Ribblesdale this morning, (not exactly sure where 'cos I
wasn't paying much attention, just following blindly). Café owner does lots
of lovely homemade jam very cheap, so bought three jars and stuck 'em in the
top box. In order to stop them bashing against one another, I stuffed two of
them inside my waxed cotton overmitts, but didn't bother to prop them
upright as they had screw caps on. Bad idea.

One of my chums said something about what fun it would be if the jam leaked
out, and oh, how we laughed. You can see where this going, can't you?

Got home, and one screw cap had managed to undo itself. I can vouch for the
fact that the rhubarb and ginger is absolutely delicious, even when scooped
from the inside of an overmitt! Thankfully, most of the contents remained in
the jar, and the overmitt was easily turned inside out and rinsed.

Not quite as bad as the time SWMBO put a jar of tomato chutney on the back
seat of her car, and the cap came off, or the time she stuck a bottle of red
wine with a dodgy cork in her hold baggage... :)
