Got a quick action throttle now!!!

  1. Seeing as it's the bonus round at the moment, I'm taking the GPX to work,
    and working on the ZX10.

Finally got the quick action throttle rigged up.

The set up was a pain in the arse though, so it's not for the faint hearted.

I had to search wreckers for a quick action throttle (this took a few months
of waiting till someone with one stacked).

Then I had to cut, grind, file, and generally buggerise the right hand
switch block until I could fit the shiny new piece of go-faster goodness.

Still. All done now. And I'm pretty happy with the result.

As soon as I finish replacing the various bearings etc (HTF do you get the
blasted wheel bearings out anyway?) I'll go for a ride, and, assuming I come
back in one piece, let you know how much difference it makes (considering I
couldn't open the throttle fully before (small hands)).

I'll post a link to some pics of my handiwork as soon as I get (or borrow) a
    digital camera, too.

Why not just fit an on/off switch?

    hehe
When I had the ZXR I had a very short 1/8 turn quick action throttle on it.
A number of people who rode the bike commented on it.

    "That's not a throttle - it's a switch!"
Fun when you had 140hp+ on tap

those ppl iincluded were Rob Phillis & Warwick Nowland

  4. 'Cause I need at least 3 positions. Closed, (for slowing down), open (for
speeding up), and a little bit open (for holding a steady speed through the
    speed cameras).

why would you need your speed to be steady for the speed cameras? The
throttle closed position would be a much safer bet.

So I don't get run over by all the 4WDs doing exactly 5km under the limit
when they go through. (bastards with their new fangled cruise control
    thingies).
