GOR Run

Well I left at about 8.30 went via Calder to Princes down to Geelong.

Lunched at Apollo Bay about 2 ish and arrived at Warnambool about 5.15.

Got back to Castlemaine at 10.30. Total 820 Km recorded + about 10 or so
from when the speedo cable came off the head in the Otway Forest.

Bigger post and ride report to follow......

Off to Soveriegn Hill today

How did the speedo cable come off?

 

Didn't make Sovereign Hill, did the wildlife park, Eureka Centre, and Gold
Museum.

The wimmens are off to Soveriegn Hill tomorrow so I can play with engines
again.......Getting withdrawl symptoms and me hands are far to clean.

Hi Smee,

The rubber cover seems to have slipped off the knurled nut at the speedo
head through vibration (the Otway forest roads seem to be in a lot poorer
condition than when I rode through there 4.5 years ago)

Then I assume vibration did the rest and the nut came loose.

Just glad I rebuilt the forks and put new rubber on the Beast before I
ventured out there.

I even renewed the brake fluid the day before I went coz I wasn't happy with
the way the front brake felt after the tyres had been fitted.

All I need now is another reason to go back there
