Not for everyone it didn't.

 

Nope - reult of a new strain of the MyDoom virus which searches web pages
for email adresses. This has resulted in some search engine sites such as
google being overwhelmed with search requests from infected computers,
resulting in some servers going down temporarily. In effect this has had
the same effect as a ddos (distributed denial of service) attack which is
sometimes used deliberately by hackers to bring down a targeted server with
multiple, high frequency, indefinitely repeated requests for
connection/information.
