Tall order I know, but the CBR (1) needs a new front tyre.

Currently has Macadam 100X, front and rear - don't give a shit what others
say, I've ridden the bike reasonably hard, and not fallen off yet, so they
can't be that bad - any recommendations at a sensible price, preferably
found at somewhere in the Kent / London regions?

    TIA

Watling's in Catford (SE6) used to do mine when I lived in Lewisham.
    They have a lot of shops in your area;

All together now... "FWR!" Kennington, SE11. I still rate the Avon
av45/46 if your size is available. As do a lot of others here I
    believe.

    Wot 'e said.
I rode my CBR from work yesterday and missed my turn off the A406 so I
decided to carry on and go up the M1 to the services and get a coffee
(just because I could). When I got there, This was a total of about 5
miles, the back tyre was sticky to the touch. My point is that despite
wringing the tits (for me, anyway) off my Racetec shod R1 last weekend
for about 100 miles round Billingshurst bypass, I could not get them to
even get warm, let alone fucking sticky so yes, the Avons do it for me,
    too.
If anyone can recommend a tyre that warms up quickly, lasts a good while
[1] and I can bung on my Yam I'd like to hear.

I'm seriously thinking about bunging some STs on it!

[1] Is there such a thing as dual compound Superbike tyres?

My local supplier of tyres was steering me towards a pair of Michelin
Pilot Power CT2s to replace the Macadams which came on the Voxan.

He knows I combine the odd speed hill climb and occasional track day
with one or two reasonably long distance road trips, but do not require
    fantastic life.

He claims they are a genuine dual compound tyre. I have been impressed
with what he has recommended in the past so may well go for them. In
which case if someone want some very low mileage ( < 2000 miles)
    Macadams: 120/70 ZR 17 & 180/55 ZR 17 (probably only Macadam 90 - must
check) they might soon be available.

I've had my AV45/46s for a week now, and they are 10x better than the
BT45s. I have new found confidence in my FJ, and the riding experience
    is totally magic in comparison.

I can take high speed corners at least 20mph faster on the Avons. The
BTs used to let the FJ drift out quite a bit (understeer if you like),
but the AVs let the FJ just follow the corner in a more neutral fashion.

If the reports of longevity are true, I shall be a very happy bunny.
