I'm going to be down in Canberra over the weekend with the missus. We're
planning on taking a couple of friends as pillions on a ride somewhere on
Sunday. It'll be my wife's first time taking a pillion, so something
hairily twisty might not be the best.

Something about two hours total would be nice, fast sweepers and all that
sort of thing. All recommendations gratefully received.

  3. Never done it from the Canberra side so I dunno how far Braidwood is
from you, but the Kings Hwy that leads from Braidwood to Bateman's Bay
is divine. Nice fish'n'chips at BB too. :)

You want to ride out to Tarago, you do. Give me a call when you
arrive, and I'll teach you how to mix concrete. ;-)

I should have mentioned that we're going from Wollongong to Canberra from
that direction. Beautiful road, but I think it takes more than an hour one
    way.

  6. That'd be Macquarie and Jamberoo Passes... Bit of a hike out of Canberra
for a newbie pillion pilot though...

Yeah, we'd do those runs from home (I live about 30 min from the bottom of
Macquarie pass, about about 45 from the bottom of Jamberoo). Doing those
coming out of Canberra would be a bit too much of a hike.

I'm late. Sorry, I've been on leave (school holidays you know).

You could try the Old Farts' Loop: Canberra-Federal Hwy-Macs Reef
Rd-Bungendore-Qbn-Canberra, two hours if you stop in B'dore for coffee
(or return to Qbn via the Shoalhaven crossing).

Or the full Cotter loop, or the 3 Dams loop[1], or the Dog's Lunch loop
[2] (a bit longer than 2 hours though)(some dirt too).

So where did you actually go?

Into the car. My wife was feeling a bit crook, and the weather didn't
sound so good. Good we did, with all the snow about. **** that would have
    been cold on the bikes.

Thanks for the tips, we're planning on going back in the near future.
